Trainees at Noadswood
We have a strong relationship with the University of Southampton and every year we have trainee teachers based at Noadswood for their main or focus placements. In the past we have also worked with the Ringwood Teaching Alliance and Winchester University. At Noadswood teaching and learning is at the heart of what we do. We recognise the importance of quality teacher training at all levels, including with trainees.
Part of any training route includes having a Curriculum Mentor and an Initial Teacher Education Co-Ordinator (ITEC). The mentor supports the trainee with lesson planning and subject knowledge and works alongside to set targets and ensure they gain a positive experience in the classroom and within their department. The ITEC oversees all training routes and coordinates professional learning outside of their subject, for example behaviour management.
We have an excellent record when it comes to trainees securing a job, and several of our trainees have remained at Noadswood following their PGCE.
