Dear parents, carers and students,
As you know, one of our school family, Ben Pavitt, sadly lost his battle against cancer last year. One of Ben's lasting wishes was for his parents to help fundraise for cancer treatment for young people, which is currently vastly under-funded, via Ben's Legacy of Love fundraiser.
As a school we are keen to support this hugely significant cause which could affect any of our families or friends in the future, alongside remembering Ben and the contribution he made to our school. We want to make next week particularly special as Tuesday 14th June is Ben's birthday; he would've been 17 years old.
We therefore have a few activities that we are supporting next week to help raise funds, and there will be more to follow later this term as well as in the autumn, as we continue to remember Ben.
Sponsored challenges for Ben's Legacy of Love fundraiser (click here)
Several colleagues have set themselves challenges for sponsorship, Miss Marshall has been running daily and will do so in school on Tuesday lunchtime with some students (thank you to so many of you who have donated and continue to do so!), Miss Fitzgerald is doing a sponsored run in October, and Ben's parents have been doing daily press ups and tap dancing!
Can you help your young person think of a challenge they can be sponsored for? If they come up with something, ask them to send a message to Miss Fitzgerald or Miss Marshall, or they can give their tutor the information - we will help them set things up as a fundraiser if they would like to do this.
Wear Something Colourful for Ben - Tuesday 14th June - £1 payable to Scopay.
Cake sale for students - Friday 17th June - Could you or your children donate a cake for us to sell? They can be brought into Reception on Friday morning. Students can then bring money to donate in exchange for a cake.
Any further donations you would like to make we would of course greatly appreciate!
